Barn owls have large broods, raise more than one brood in times of high rodent populatons,
breed in any month, and are voracioius eaters. They are also less territorial than other raptors, sometimes even
living in groups. All of these traits lend them to use in Integrated Pest Management.
Mark Browning, who
designed the Barn Owl Box, conducted the first satellite telemetry study of the barn owl. Resulting papers will be posted
here.
Numerous organizations in several countries are focused on the conservation of this valuable and beautiful
bird.
